Cannabis Ordinance – Sonoma County

Mark Your Calendars: Time to Speak Up! On Friday, Sonoma County released a draft medical cannabis ordinance along with supporting exhibits, a staff report, and a negative impact report. There’s also a very handy chart for the permit types and land use. Over the next few days, Canna Legal will be writing a series of articles to explain the details of this cannabis ordinance and potential impacts on the medical cannabis industry in Sonoma County. There are some important meetings coming up, and it’s critical that you show up and make your voices heard!

We encourage you to contact your supervisors and county staff – go ahead flood them with calls – to tell them about how these policy recommendations effect your businesses. You can also email Cannabis@sonoma-county.org. Project Planner, Amy Lyle, is available for comments at amy.lyle@sonoma-county.org. The deadline for public comments on the ordinance is prior to the Planning Commission hearing and the deadline for comments on the Negative Declaration is October 30, 2016.
