CBS News Reporter Howard Arenstein Was Busted For Growing Marijuana At His DC Home
Award-winning CBS Radio News Correspondent and Radio Bureau Manager Howard Arenstein was arrested in D.C. Saturday, After police found marijuana growing in his yard. His wife, Orly Azoulay, was also arrested for possession of pot with intent to distribute.
The couple was found to have 11 cannabis plants growing in the backyard of their home in Washington’s posh
Georgetown neighborhood. The plants averaged to be 8ft tall each. The police estimated each plant could produce a pound of weed.
The news comes as a shock to the couples friends. Arenstein is a
respected newsman who covered major events like the September 11
terrorist attacks and the DC sniper. He has been awarded the prestigious Edoward R. Murrow award twice. His wife is a correspondent for one of the largest newspapers in Israel.
Metropolitan Police Departed also confirmed that drug paraphernalia was also found inside their home. An anonymous tip led the cops to the bust.
